India

Work for the Crisis States Programme in India is being undertaken by a team at the University of Delhi led by Prof Neera Chandhoke, Dept of Political Science,  and coordinated by Praveen Priyadarshi.  Their work will contribute to the theme of 'Cities and States: conflict, war and reconstruction' by examining the causes and impact of systemic violence on cities, with particular reference to Ahmedabad.  Prof Chandhoke will also contribute comparative work on 'Development as State Making'.
